A Note from Jeremy

A Note from Jeremy

Dear Friends,

As it turns out, my very first CD as young kid contained the complete works for clarinet by Carl Maria von Weber. After studying and teaching his first concerto for decades, I’m so excited to finally perform it with the DPO at Prost! on April 7.

This piece is in the blood of every clarinetist.

If it wasn’t for Weber, we might not have any clarinet concertos from the Romantic era! He wrote this piece for the famous clarinetist Heinrich Bärmann who was known for employing impeccable technique while producing the most gorgeous lyrical musical lines. I consider this one of Weber’s most successful “instrumental operas!”

I am absolutely thrilled to be performing the Weber Clarinet Concerto alongside Maestro Mark Mast and the Denver Philharmonic. I hope you will enjoy hearing this magnificent work as much as I enjoy playing it.

See you next Friday for Prost!
