A Note from Principal Cellist Katie Burns

Dear friends,

Travel and music have always gone hand in hand for me. They have taken me to Boston, New York, France, Italy and Greece where I’ve been able to collaborate and build lasting relationships with musicians and composers from around the world.

I’ve seen how making music on this level has not only benefited my career as a musician — but more importantly how it has benefited me as a human in experiencing new cultures and learning to work with new people through music.

I’m so happy that the Denver Philharmonic also understands this value and is affording its musicians the opportunity to experience it through a weeklong exchange with our trans-Atlantic sister orchestra, the Bavarian Philharmonic in Munich, Germany.

We have already received so much support along the way, and you can offer yours this Saturday — the Season Teaser is a sneak preview of the 2017–18 Season and celebration of our 70th birthday. Enjoy complimentary food, drinks, music, and beautiful Denver vistas! Tickets are $25, and proceeds will help me and my fellow musicians with travel expenses.
