Congratulations, Matt!

Congratulations, Matt!

There is no way around it and there is no better way to say it — I’m proud!! To begin with, I’m proud to live in a community that values the arts and promotes its citizens to be leaders in the arts community. Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) spearheads incredible efforts to train tomorrow’s arts organizations leaders. Thank you CBCA!!  But, the group does not stop with just training leaders, it also encourages its graduates to actually get involved and recognizes those who excel. Which leads me to the second reason I’m proud. Today, CBCA awarded Denver Philharmonic Board Secretary and marketing guru Matt Meier with its 2017 Cultural Leadership Award!! I really cannot think of a better person to receive such a high honor. Matt pours his heart and soul into the work he does for our orchestra. Whether facilitating a new and innovative collaboration or making sure our orchestra is putting its best image forward, Matt works tirelessly to promote and grow the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra. It’s clear that he truly believes in the DPO, and his leadership proves it. You know what else makes me proud? The award was given to Matt by another DPO leader — Sarah Hogan! To see and hear the breadth and the depth of the involvement our leaders have in our community makes me very proud.

Thank you, Matt, from everyone in the DPO family, for all the work you do for our orchestra — and congratulations on receiving the 2017 Cultural Leadership Award!! We look forward to seeing what you have in store for us in the future!
