Denver Philharmonic takes home two Emmy Awards!

Dear Friends,

On Saturday night, we proudly took home two Heartland Emmy Awards for our webseries “Playing Out,” which takes musicians out of the concert hall and into the streets of Denver. The series redefines the way our community engages with our soloists — not as stuffy, unapproachable artists, but as a new friend with whom you may have something in common.

“Playing Out” has received rave reviews from patrons like you, and we’re over-the-moon excited that the Academy agreed! On hand to accept the award for Best Arts Feature were DPO Executive Director Valerie Clausen and creators/producers Matt Meier and David Sherman. David, who is a professional local filmmaker, took home the second award for Best Editor Short Form for his impeccable editing skills.

Join me in thanking and congratulating the “Playing Out” team! Their creativity, professionalism and willingness to volunteer and provide such a high-quality Emmy Award-winning series for the DPO is immensely appreciated by the entire orchestra! We are so glad you are part of our family!

Again, I say that I cannot be more proud of this orchestra. But, I’ve learned my lesson, and I can’t wait to be even prouder soon.

Jon Olafson, DPO Board President
