Grand Opening of the Antonia Brico Stage
Da da da dun!
The four most-famous notes of all time will keep you on the edge of your seat during Ludwig van Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, the smashing finale at The Grand Opening of the Antonia Brico Stage on September 30.
Recently completed, our new stage is dedicated to Antonia Brico, DPO founder and pioneer female conductor. The opening number, Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3., along with Richard Wagner’s Overture to Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, are two pieces Antonia conducted at her debut with the New York Philharmonic in 1938. Connecting our past, present and future, we are proud to spotlight our principal trumpet Ryan Spencer performing Johann Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto.
