Benvenuti a Roma!

IMG_3574When In Rome concludes our 69th season May 25. Pianist Wei Luo, Gold Medal Winner of both the Chopin and Rachmaninoff International Piano Competitions, performs Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in G Minor. The concerto, along with Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio italien and Respighi’s Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome wrap our Italian-themed season finale.

Food Truck Tailgate, 5:30 – 7:15pm

Festa Italiana, starting at 6:15pm

Back by popular demand, the Chalet Dancers who wowed our audience at Prost! are back with traditional Italian Tarantella dancing in the street. Tell all your friends about your Italian vacation! Send a Roman postcard from your night at the DPO — we’ll even stamp and mail them out for you!

Coffee Station, starting at 6:15pm

Our friends at Purple Door Coffee will be brewing java for you to enjoy.

Pre-Concert Chat, 6:30pm

Join us for informal pre-concert chat about the music you’ll be hearing hosted by our associate conductor. What should you listen for? What is the music’s historic and cultural context? Associate conductor Hisham Bravo Groover will give you insights into the music and music-makers you’ll be listening to. Pre-concert Chat is free to all ticket holders starting at 6:30pm.

Reception, immediately following concert

Say hello! Join us in the lobby after the concert for refreshments, meet the musicians, buy a t-shirt — and have fun!
