Why do you love the DPO?

At the end of our 2013–14 Season, we set up an audience survey to hear what people were saying about attending our concerts. Here are just a few responses to the question ‘What’s your favorite thing about the DPO?’

“I love exposing my children to the music DPO plays. We get excited about the themed concerts like geology and astronomy and can really visualize the pieces as the music is played! It’s like family and we always feel so welcome and at home and the concerts.”

“I like that it is close, inexpensive, and not formal. It’s just a great place to hear music, and it doesn’t hurt that all the musicians are insanely talented!”

“I can afford to bring our whole family of 5.”

“I love sitting close up.  I love access to the musicians after the show.”

“I just find Friday concerts so relaxing and recharging to the spirit — so much glorious music.  Then, too, it is fun to hear an occasional swing or popular song that shows the orchestra in a laid back style.”

“The music is divine! the energy of the orchestra is fantastic. I love the fact that there is so much diversity of every kind in the audience.”

“Fun selections. Live performance!! Nothing beats a live performance.”

“The atmosphere is so relaxed, but the music was still of such high quality. The musicians were excellent, but the venue didn’t feel stuffy.”

“The passion is palpable.”
