For a third season, we’re breakin’ out of the concert hall into Denver’s bustling downtown nightlife. Our chamber music series DPO With a Twist brings you small ensembles over dinner & drinks in a nightclub setting. Seating is limited — book early as these intimate performances sell out quickly! Please note, DPO With a Twist performances are not included in the Main Stage Season Pass.

DPO With a Twist: Mixed Drink

Is this real life? Is this just fantasy? Escape from reality at the finale of our third season of “DPO With a Twist,” Friday, May 4. Mixed Drink features 25 DPO musicians in small ensembles performing an assortment of classical and contemporary works. The set includes harp solos, fiddlin’ duets, an operatic quartet and a woodwind quintet rocking out to Queen’s anthemic “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Cover: $20

Music Director Lawrence Golan will pick up his violin to make his DPO With a Twist debut. Hosted at Dazzle’s new venue in downtown Denver’s Theatre District, Spritzer brings you small string and harp ensembles over drinks in the historic Baur’s Building. Cover: $15

DPO With a Twist: Make It a Double

Nurse your holiday hangover with a “Twist” doubleheader on January 12. For the first time on Dazzle’s main stage, catch our string and brass ensembles back-to-back performing music by John Williams, Dimitri Shostakovich, Oskar Bohme, Antonio Vivaldi and DPO cellist Michael Marecak. Arrive early for dinner & drinks to complete a perfect evening out on the town! Cover: $20.

DPO With a Twist: Havana to Harlem

Harlem of the East meets “Harlem of the West” in The Studio Loft at The Ellie Caulkins Opera House, March 9 & 10. The Grammy Award-winning Harlem Quartet and Cuban pianist/composer Aldo López-Gavilán join members of the Denver Philharmonic as part of the our “DPO With a Twist” chamber music series. With a Latin jazz flavor, this “Twist” is a can’t-miss collaboration featuring original music by López-Gavilán, Dizzy Gillespie, Antônio Carlos Jobim and Billy Strayhorn (March 9), and López-Gavilán and Felix Mendelssohn (March 10). Cover: $25–35.

Co-Presented by Denver Arts & Venues and the Denver Philharmonic as part of The Next Stage NOW. Denver Arts & Venues is partnering with artists and arts organizations to present The Next Stage Now, an initiative to create programming and placemaking in non-traditional ways throughout the Denver Performing Arts Complex, in support of The Next Stage Vision Plan. Unveiled in 2016, The Next Stage Vision Plan will re-energize the Arts Complex with new and updated venues, more public space and diverse and accessible programming.
