Hailing from all across the globe, meet the 14 participants of our Sixth Annual International Conducting Workshop, Concert & Competition!
Led by DPO Music Director Laureate Lawrence Golan and guest faculty Jeffery Meyer, this array of veteran and up-and-coming conductors will spend a week of score study and programming classes, career development class, orchestra rehearsals and video reviews — all culminating in a final, live performance with the DPO orchestra on February 14th at our Hearts Aflame concert. Plus, at the discretion of the faculty, one competition winner will be invited back to guest conduct a piece with the DPO next season!
Six participants will conduct a movement at Hearts Aflame on the main stage: Luke Berringer, Haoguo Chen, Hayoung Jeong, Elle Lee, Asieh Mahyar & Peter Werlen.
In addition, these eight conductors will helm the baton for the free pre-concert strings ensemble performance: Lauren Burchell, Gracie Carrillo, Ashley Hawk, Frances Ho, Alfonso Keller-Casielles, Victoria Olson, Andrew Sánchez & Hector Zhang.
