Happy 2020!
With our busy fall collaborations with the Denver Art Museum and Central City Opera, we had to schedule our DPO With a Twist chamber music series’ season premiere for January 24, which felt like a lifetime ago when we set the date. But now it’s here, and I couldn’t be more excited!
This season, we’re shaking it up again with three Twists at three different venues around town. First up, we’re back at the award-winning Dazzle on Lunar New Year’s Eve with a medley of chamber music sets featuring DPO musicians!
The evening rises with a dynamic brass/sax/piano piece by modern composer James Stephenson. Audience favorite Voice of the Wood, a string sextet led by concertmaster Katherine Thayer, shines on Song to the Moon from Rusalka and other contemporary works featuring Kimberly Brody, principal oboe. The evening sets with the string ensemble performing a bright, new orchestration of Dvořák’s third String Quintet.
Don’t miss my favorite performances of the season starting with DPO With a Twist: Mixed Drink at Dazzle!
