In celebration of the upcoming exhibition, Claude Monet: The Truth of Nature, the Denver Art Museum and Denver Philharmonic Orchestra are excited to announce an opportunity for kids 18 and younger to create their artworks inspired by the iconic artist.
From August 2 to September 15, the Denver Art Museum will accept digital submissions through their website.
A selection of submissions will be featured at our season premiere concert, First Impressions: Music & Monet, as a brilliant backdrop to specially-chosen French music selections. All participants will receive discounted tickets to the concert, occurring on October 4, 2019.
Adults—here is where you come in.
Do you know a kid 18 or younger who loves art, paints colorful landscapes or is inspired by picturesque outdoor scenes? Please help them to do the following:
- Scroll through the Monet works on the Museum’s exhibition page.
- Create a unique work of art (painting, sculpture, drawing, collage, etc.) inspired by Monet.
- Snap a photo of the artwork following these specifications: 1920 x 1080 px, <3mb.
- Fill out the form on the Denver Art Museum’s website and upload a photo of the artwork to complete the submission.
Note that you will receive an autoreply message to confirm receipt of your submission.
As this is a challenge, not a contest, the concert selection will include submissions from kids of different ages, working with various media. The purpose is to encourage kids to draw their inspiration from Monet’s work and enjoy creating something new.
To be considered, the submissions can only be digital; works of art submitted in person will not be accepted. Please, only one submission per child. Claude Monet: The Truth of Nature opens October 21, 2019.
Merci!
