Ana Vashakmadze is currently a master’s orchestral conducting student at Lamont School of Music. Vashakmadze serves as an assistant conductor for Lamont Symphony Orchestra and
Denver Philharmonic Orchestra.
Prior to pursuing graduate studies Vashakmadze was an interim assistant artistic administrator for the National Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, Ana was the executive assistant for the music director – maestro Gianandrea Noseda.
Growing up in Tbilisi, Georgia, Ana studied piano performance at the Tbilisi Z. Paliashvili Central Music School. Vashakmadze got her bachelor’s degree in piano performance and international studies from Gettysburg College. Fall 2021, Ana studied abroad in Vienna, Austria.
Vashakmadze served as the assistant conductor of the Sunderman Conservatory Symphony Orchestra throughout her undergraduate studies. In 2020, she got to be the cover conductor for the Tbilisi Youth Orchestra. She has attended several summer festivals including Pierre Monteux School and Music Festival, the Conductors Institute in South Carolina, Prague Summer Nights, Saluzzo Opera Academy, Vienna Opera Academy.
