Russian-born Evgeny Shcherbakov composed and conducted a short piece during a concert performance when he was 9 years old; this moment was the source of inspiration which marked the beginning of a life-long career in music. Evgeny received an extensive musical education: Bachelor’s degree in Orchestral Conducting, Master’s degree in Choir Conducting, Master’s and Doctor’s degrees in Composition and completed Intensive Opera-Symphony Conducting Courses.
Evgeny was a long-term Professor at the Nizhny Novgorod State Glinka Conservatoire and an associate conductor of the Conservatoire’s Symphony Orchestra traveling widely as a composer, lecturer and conductor. In 2008, he immigrated with his family to Vancouver, Canada where he teaches and tours as a composer and conductor.
