The walls will sing at Pulling Out All The Stops. The second concert in our powerhouse season showcases the beautiful and historic Reuter pipe organ at Central Presbyterian Church. Emmy Award-winning filmmaker David Sherman road-tripped down to Colorado Springs to visit organist Joseph Galema and the beautiful mid-century pipe organ at the U.S. Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel.
And back in Denver, Central’s Presbyterian’s Director of Music Wil Smith gave us an exclusive tour of Central’s pipe organ — from the basement all the way up to the dusty loft where some 3,000 metal and wood pipes generate amazing sound.
This Friday, Joe will perform two great works with our orchestra — Francis Poulenc’s Organ Concerto in G minor and Camille Saint-Saëns’ Organ Symphony. The concert also features Maurice Ravel’s bright and lyrical celebration of life Le Tombeau de Couperin.
