Are you ready for some fútbol?
Presented by Marketo
Things are heating up on April 14! ¡GOOOOAL! takes us south of the border with José Pablo Monyao’s Mexican anthem Huapango, Silvestre Revueltas’ Redes and American Aaron Copland’s lively El Salón México. From there, we kick around in Spain with music from Three-Cornered Hat by Manuel de Falla. We return to Latin America for “Ária” from Heitor Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas brasileiras fifth suite, and we tango into Buenos Aires with Astor Piazzolla’s romantic Oblivion. In the countryside, we celebrate Argentine folk music and dancing with Four Dances from Alberto Ginastera’s ballet, Estancia. Mexico City-based José Luis Castillo guest conducts.
