Adams’ Short Ride in a Fast Machine quickly accelerates into Gershwin’s classic locomotive jazz number, Rhapsody in Blue, featuring 2013 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition finalist Fei-Fei Dong. The season crosses the finish line with Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5, which, at times, sounds like a maniacal machine off to the races.
