Next week, Heroes opens our 2018–19 Season!
Superstar violinist Xiao Liu is flying in from Beijing this weekend for our 71st Season premiere on September 28. He’ll be performing one of the most difficult violin pieces ever written, Paganini’s first violin concerto.
Faster than a speeding bullet, with fingers like the Flash, Xiao is a violin rockstar of Hendrix proportions. At just 24, he became the youngest violin professor at the Central Conservatory of Music, the top music academy in China. Two years later, he became the Kelly Clarkson of China as the first musician to win the country’s American Idol-like violin competition.
On top of Xiao’s mastery, we’ve got Beethoven’s “Heroic” Symphony — named the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) by BBC Music Magazine. And a food truck tailgate. With our own craft beer from Ursula Brewery.
It’s gonna be epic.
