Dear Denver Philharmonic patrons and musicians,
As a Denver native, and a former member of the Brico Symphony under Maestro Brico, I’m thrilled to announce my new children’s book, In One Ear & Out the Other: Antonia Brico & Her Amazingly Musical Life will be released soon! I’m looking forward to celebrating the book with Antonia’s orchestra, the Denver Philharmonic (formerly known as the Brico Symphony).
The publisher, Penny Candy Books, has arranged for an exclusive prerelease of the book with Tattered Cover for DPO patrons and musicians coinciding with the upcoming Strings at Stanley outdoor concerts, September 25 & 26 at Stanley Marketplace. As part of DPO’s signature More Than Music events, I am happy to be there each night for a preconcert book signing.
Dr. Brico had a huge impact on my young musical life. I hope her story of grit and perseverance will inspire a young person in your life to pursue their dreams, and to let discouraging words from others go “in one ear and out the other.”
