Oh, the holidays are upon us! It’s Thanksgiving week, and before we know it, 2019 will be here.
To kick off the season, DPO musicians opened the German American Chamber of Commerce’s annual Denver Christkindl Market with performances by string and brass ensembles this past weekend. Mayor Michael Hancock tapped the keg, and families flooded the dance floor when they struck up the band.
No power? No problem. The DPO strings played by phone flashlights in the cozy tent perched on 16th and Arapahoe downtown. Photo by Kevin Mohatt, Special to The Denver Post.
If you missed Saturday’s performance, the brass are back December 18, 3:30–5:30pm. Enjoy a free performance and food & beer that our friends in Munich would approve of!
