Guten Tag… from Denver?
Yeah, you read that right. Fourteen DPO musicians, Music Director Lawrence Golan, our executive director and board president are currently in Munich, Germany to perform alongside transatlantic partners, the Bavarian Philharmonic, and they left me behind to hold down the fort stateside. (I’m not jealous, I’m fine. Totally fine. 100% a-ok. 😭)
Tomorrow, on the Fourth of July, we officially kick off our 2018–19 Season with Symphonic America, our fifth collaborative concert with the leading European orchestra. And next spring, the Bavarian Philharmonic will send their chorus here to Denver for the can’t-miss concert, Gloria, featuring Mozart’s “Great” Mass conducted by audience-favorite Mark Mast.
Save on your Gloria concert tickets with a season pass!
Of all of our collaborations with the Munich-based orchestra, this photo might just be my favorite. Today, DPO’s Beth and Bavarian Philharmonic’s Alexandria were found busking in Marienplatz, a town square in the heart of Munich. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more #DPOinMunich updates!
From everyone at the Denver Philharmonic — from Munich to here at home — Happy Fourth of July! We hope your holiday is a safe and a happy one. 🇺🇸
