All this gray and rainy weather would normally have me down, but it’s giving me all the springtime vibes! Flowers are popping up, the parks are verdant and blooming, and I can’t wait to picnic out on The Field at Stanley Marketplace at Spring at Stanley in just a few weeks.
Alongside Beethoven’s magnificent seventh symphony, one of the pieces we’re playing is Felix Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides, a lyrical journey from the loneliness of a dark cave into the joyful, bright light of day. For me, listening to the work brought up all kinds of feelings as we collectively begin to emerge from the darkness of more than a year of pandemic life.
So, while the rain may be around the next week or so, the sun IS coming back out, and I look forward to sharing the power, joy and optimism of LIVE music, together once again.
See you on The Field at Stanley Marketplace on May 26 & 27! I’ll be the guy who can’t stop smiling.
